Is your family new to Little Lovage Club?

We are so excited to welcome families and children who are brand new to Little Lovage Club to our Summer Program! While you know your child best, it is our experience that attending a few classes with Miss Lauren in advance helps build the trust and comfort level that young children need to make a drop-off program successful. We strongly recommend visiting Little Lovage Club at least three to five times before your Summer Club session begins to help your child with this transition.

Learn More about Summer Club

Monday | Sensory and Water Play

We will be rotating fun sensory materials in our three sensory tables such as water, sand, sensory beads, natural materials, and more. We will always include our water table for splashing and experimenting. Sensory play is a great, open-ended way for children to learn, problem-solve, develop creativity, grow language and cognition, and improve motor skills.

Tuesday | Music

In our music class we will discover the joy of music by using a variety of fun instruments such as bells, drums, xylophones, shakers, rhythm sticks, and various props to help learn about rhythm and tempo. Through nursery rhymes our teachers help children to identify sound patterns and learn through repetition.

Wednesday | Art

Our art classes allow children to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning. Children are naturally curious and love to experiment with colors, textures and art tools. Using safe, non-toxic art materials our toddlers can get messy and have the freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way.

Thursday | Dance and Movement

Our dance class will consist of songs and movements that get children up and giggling. We will be using shakers, dinosaur tails, and other props to engage the group as they learn songs and move together. Our dancers will practice self-expression and explore and control their body movements.

Friday | Games and Movement

Our games and movement class will have your child playing multiple games and moving their bodies in new and fun ways. Promoting movement and activity in young children can help increase memory, perception, language, attention, emotion and even decision making. We learn new skills like kicking and passing balls, climbing safely, collecting items to clean up as a team, sharing, playing together, and learning how to move our bodies around and with others in an appropriate and safe manner.

Familiarity and Comfort for your Child

Little Lovage Club is a home-away-from-home for many families in the South End and Back Bay. You may be thinking about your child’s transition from staying home to going to preschool or preK; our summer program is designed with this adjustment period and preschool readiness in mind. We believe the best way to start adjusting to preschool is being dropped off at a familiar and comfortable space.

A Focus on Socialization and Growing Confidence

One of the key benefits to a drop-off program is socialization. Allowing your child to learn how to interact with others when you are not around is a skill they will use throughout their lives. Your child will be surrounded by other children their age, loving teachers and friendly staff. The exposure and interaction with other people and age groups help improve the social and emotional skills of the child. Each week, your child will be exploring their independence, building confidence through mastering new skills and making new friendships.

A Dedication to Play

We pride ourselves on creating an intentional learning environment that fosters imagination and freedom of play. Our indoor playground is equipped with everything we need to run a successful, fun, well-rounded, and safe early childhood program. We focus on having fun while learning, building self-esteem and social skills through new activities. We aim to cultivate in each child a sense of wonder and curiosity for the natural world, creativity, collaboration with others, and confidence to engage in new experiences. Your child will engage in a diverse number of activities: crafts, dancing, music, dramatic play, group games, sensory and water play, and an hour each day in the fresh air of our outdoor space.

Always, Safety First

Our experienced team is trained to practice rigorous health and safety protocols to ensure your child is always secure, safe, heard, and happy. We value mental health as well as physical health. We believe in a respectful, reciprocal, and responsive environment tailored to the needs of every child.

Once your child is enrolled in Lovage Summer Club, we’ll reach out to you to complete a general form about your child and family, along with a medical form. These details ensure we provide personalized care and a safe environment for your little one’s summer adventures.

Thank you to all the kiddos and families who joined us last summer!
