Early Parenting Instructor Training Info
As a mother yourself, you have experienced the extraordinary upheaval that accompanies the new identity of “parent”. You know, if you don’t remember each detail, how difficult those first few weeks were. You have experienced the joy and despair, fatigue and elation, confusion and certainty that come with needing to take care of and getting to know this new, utterly dependent person in your life.
Perhaps you also have experience working with babies and young children; or you have worked with families or expecting mothers in other contexts. Perhaps you simply took part in a new moms’ group with your own baby, and you recognize the enormous value provided by peer support given in a comfortable & well-facilitated setting.
Over the years, several people asked if I could mentor them as they pursue a goal of teaching early parenting groups. In response, we developed this program. I am delighted to announce that I will be conducting our third workshop to train facilitators in March 2017.
We will meet as a group for sixteen hours – 4 four-hour sessions across 4 consecutive Sundays. I will also meet individually with each participant once during the month of workshops*, and we encourage each participant to observe at least one entire series of classes, though you are welcome to observe as many as you wish! Expert speakers on infant feeding, sleep and child development will join us for an hour each at one of our sessions.
Deadline to register is sept 1st
Times & Dates: September 10, 17, 24 & October 1st from 2:30-6:30pm.
