Who's it for: Expecting parents preparing for labor and delivery
An inclusive course founded on evidence-based information helping you to understand pregnancy and learn about labor. You will become familiar with medical procedures, interventions & pain management available in the hospital as well as practice helpful comfort techniques for labor. We aim to increase your and your partner's confidence, and to give you ample opportunity to ask questions, address fears, discuss birth plans and communication strategies. Topics to be discussed and/or practiced:
Breathing, relaxation, massage positions for labor, role of hormones in labor & postpartum, role of partner & helpful support strategies Pain management – including hydrotherapy Interventions – including induction of labor Cesarean birth Normal newborn appearances What to expect the first few hours/days.
